About Us

The Baret Bat & Glove Company is a small veteran owned company that uses a purpose-driven approach to help ballplayers be their best on and off the field. We do this by providing high-quality, made-to-order wood baseball bats and ballgloves.  All our products are handcrafted in small-batches and customized for the individual player.

Baret Bats is located 20 miles south of Washington DC in the community of Woodbridge, in Virginia's Prince William County.

Our Story

“Baret Bats is the result of a transformative journey, which turned a challenge into an opportunity.”

I was inspired to start Baret Bats™ because as a disabled veteran, it became harder to keep my active baseball lifestyle. In 2012, I made my last attempt in playing in a local wood bat amateur baseball league. As the season went on, it was apparent that I was not going to finish the season as my physical limitations made it difficult to do so. But rather than focusing on the things I could no longer do with baseball, this challenge allowed me to cultivate other interests such as: woodworking and design. I discovered that for more than 100 years, baseball bats were hand turned using traditional lathe and chisels. In fact, the majority of players in the baseball hall of fame used hand turned bats and as we can attest, they made baseball history along with the bat makers that crafted their bats. Invigorated with this renewed outlook, I saw an opportunity to get back in the game by dedicating myself to the art and science of handcrafting baseball bats.
